MacKenzie “Mac” Dallenbach, MSW, LMSW

Hi there, I’m Mac (she/her/hers)! Welcome to my page! I believe that you do not need to be perfect to be worthy and loved. In such a complex world, we are all striving for progress, not perfection. While I have worked with adults, I primarily work with youth (8 to 17 years) and am passionate about helping them feel comfortable in their own unique and authentic selves. I am a firm believer that people are doing the best they can at any given moment and want to improve.

I am a proud third generation graduate from the University of Northern Iowa, where I completed my undergraduate degrees in social work and psychology, with a conflict resolution certificate in 2020. After completing my undergraduate career, I was accepted into the University of Missouri – Columbia's School of Social Work as an MSW/PhD student. I received my MSW in December 2022 and now am focusing on my dissertation as a PhD candidate. I love both research and clinical work, so there is a lot of overlap between the two for me. I still teach a research methods online course at Mizzou!

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is my therapeutic modality of choice. I have received training in DBT during my Master’s practicum here at TOC, and have been in the DBT world as a clinician or group facilitator for over 2.5 years. I am also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and am in the process of working towards becoming rostered, after completing a year of consultation with nationally certified TF-CBT clinicians.

Evidence-Based Therapies I utilize:

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Insurances I currently am able to accept:

  • Medicaid (MO HealthNEt, Healthy Blue, Home State Health, UHC - Community Plan)

  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield

When I am not at TOC or Mizzou, you can be sure I am spending time with my husband, friends & family, and/or with our three personality-filled cats (Maslow, Harlow, and Fruzzetti)! I love reading, exploring and traveling. If it is soccer season, you will catch me in Kansas City cheering on Sporting Kansas City and the Kansas City Current.

I live my life following the three C’s - cats, caffeine, and curiosity.

As a provisionally licensed master social worker (LMSW) I am currently being supervised by Brighton Sanchez, MSW, LCSW (License No. 2019038235).
