Erin Grueneberg, MEd, PLPC
Hi, I'm Erin (she/her/hers) and I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor at The Oak Center. My goal is to create a nonjudgemental, empathetic space with a full invitation to show up with all of the messy complexity of being a human. My approach is client paced and body-centered. I focus on building a trusted environment to gently explore life’s harder moments and to bring the work you do in session out into your life with grounded tools and skills. I strive to hold with compassion and humor the extremes of the human experience and seek out the body and brain’s capacity to shift and heal through the work we do together.
As a therapist, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches — including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I work with adults navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, frequent emotional dysregulation, overwhelming experiences of anger, processing grief, life transitions, and trauma. I also have a special place in my heart for working with those in the perinatal and postpartum season and those navigating the ongoing rollercoaster of parenthood.
I am a calm, collaborative therapist, curious about where you are coming from, driven to really understand your experience, and focused on what makes the most sense for your life and goals. I am committed to showing up for my clients, at the same time I am walking my own path of comically moving through life and not always getting it right. Outside of the therapy room, I live on a small rural spot outside of Columbia, MO with my family, two dogs, and a herd of goats.
I am in network with the following insurance providers:
Aetna
Blue Cross Blue Shield
Cigna
Medicaid (MO HealthNet, Healthy Blue, Home State Health, and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan)
Medicare
As a provisionally licensed professional counselor (PLPC), I am currently being supervised by Christy Fleeman, LPC (License No.2004032592).
