Jamie Yates, MA, LPC

My name is Jamie Yates, and I have been fortunate enough to train in Michigan at the DBT Institute before returning to Missouri. I have been with the Oak Center since November of 2025 and identify my strengths and experience as working with adults who present with borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, substance abuse, self-harm behaviors, relationship issues, and low self-esteem.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy encourages us to find “a life worth living” and so I would encourage you to consider what is missing from your “life worth living?”  As a DBT therapist, my goal is to work alongside you to discover what a life worth living means to you and to help you work toward those goals.

Part of my own life worth living is sharing the DBT skills with others as they have helped me personally to work toward my own goals and improvement in life. I particularly appreciate the “nonjudgmental stance” skill from mindfulness and the encouragement to live in line with our values.

I have 5+ years working with DBT and providing treatment to individuals and groups. At this time, I provide services virtually for the Oak Center, as I’m located in St. Joseph, MO.

I am currently credentialed with:

  • UnitedHealthcare

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Medicare

  • Medicaid (MO HealthNet, Healthy Blue, Home State Health, and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan)
